They have performed for shows at hotel venues like The Ritz Carlton, 4 Seasons
Swissotel as well as club events at the Tanglin Club, SSC and other venues..
Also a number of Jazz concerts organized by the National Arts Council
including the “Concerts in the Park” series at the Botanic Gardens, Media Corp, etc
The group’s varied influences include music by the jazz greats like Count Basie, Duke
Ellington, helonius Monk and other Jazz legends as well as Latin influences from
Antonio C Jobim, Joao Gilberto, Tito Puente and Reuben Gonzales (Buena Vista Club)
plus fusion influences from Dave Grusin, Bob James, Deoato and the like
The Big Bands versatility includes dance tunes by Soul, R&B and Latin artistes.
The BDS Big Band combined with 8 String players
to perform @ the Entrepreneur of the Year 2003 Awards @ the Swissotel Stamford.
They also performed as a 16 pc Orchestra for Harmony Nite 2004 & 2005 grand
extravaganzas to encourage bonding during Harmony Week. The Show
Featured a total of 60 artistes performing for a crowd of 5000 including VVIPs including
many MPs as well as the Guest of Honour -The President of Singapore .
The BDS Orchestra was very well received by an appreciative audience.
